Our Facility

Our Mission & Breeding Philosophy

At D and H Bullies, our journey began over 35 years ago with a simple love for dogs. About 10 years ago, we decided that it would be possible to make up a smaller Bulldog with healthier features, by adding other small breeds to expand the gene pool for lower COI, bring the size down, and have healthier physiques, while retaining the Bulldog charm.

We choose for gentle easy-going temperaments, healthy breathing, medium wrinkle, skin health, and free-moving structure. We believe that diversified bloodlines are only part of the equation—the environment, nutrition, and early neurological stimulation (ENS) are what shape them into wonderful companions.

Every stud dog is fully DNA tested for over 200 genetic diseases. Dams are tested if the genetics are not known by parentage. When you take home one of our puppies, you are taking home a pet that has been given the best possible head start in life.

Due to the diverse genetics which are mostly English and French Bulldog, with a small percentage of other small brachycephalic breeds, puppies will vary in appearance. Some look like an English Bulldog in miniature, or smaller size Olde English Bulldog, or a Mini Bullie (without the pitbull genes). Some will have shorter legs due the CDDY gene which all French Bulldogs (and many other breeds) carry. Some will have longer legs if they miss out on this gene. Some will have longer muzzles because muzzle length is inherited on a different group of genes. Temperament and energy level are other traits which will very more than purebreds. I will try hard to make sure you get a puppy that matches with you. The older they are, the better I can tell. So, a puppy purchased at 9 weeks old, might be different than what it appears at that time. Size is another variable. By 9 weeks old this is also not accurate. There have been small ones that I thought were mini, and by 12 weeks old have passed up the littermates in size. While some that were bigger, stop growing earlier and end up only 35 lb after all.
